Edward Alsop Court shortlisted for 2024 Housing Heroes Award

Look Ahead’s Edward Alsop Court Homelessness and Complex Needs Service (EAC) has been shortlisted for a 2024 Housing Heroes Award, run by Inside Housing. The service made the shortlist for the Health and Wellbeing Category, which recognises the efforts of housing providers to promote better health outcomes for their residents.

EAC has been recognised because of its achievements made through outstanding local partnerships with Westminster City Council, the NHS and voluntary sector organisations. Among others some of these include the running of an on-site integrated clinic at the hostel, staffed by NHS nurses and visited weekly by a GP.

Look Ahead’s Chief Executive Chris Hampson said:

“We are delighted that Edward Alsop Court has been shortlisted for this year’s Housing Heroes Award. The hostel is a fantastic example of the high-quality care and support that Look Ahead deliver for our customers. I congratulate both our staff team and our partners from the NHS, the local authority and voluntary sector organisations who make Edward Alsop Court the innovative and impactful service it is today.”

Our partners gave testimonials in support of the service’s nomination. Sigrid Jensen is a Homeless Health Nurse Practitioner from Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust who works at the clinic, she said:

“Edward Alsop Court has consistently been very involved in the running of the integrated health clinic at the hostel. It could not run without the staff team at EAC, who are incredibly invested, and are a very integral part of making the in-reach health service successful. It allows the Homeless health nurse to support the residents with managing chronic and more acute conditions, as well as improving their trust and engagement with health services. I feel very grateful to have the team at Edward Alsop Court as my partner and their continued commitment to their residents is truly admirable.”

The winners will be announced on Monday 24 June 2024 at Manchester Central, and we are eagerly awaiting the result.
