Look Ahead’s London Domestic Abuse Advice Service (DAAS) recently hosted a conference focused on integrating domestic abuse advocacy into supported housing services.
The DAAS team, recognised as subject matter experts, provides specialist support to any Look Ahead customer in London who is experiencing or has experienced domestic abuse. Their expertise shaped an event that brought together around 30 attendees, including social care professionals, housing specialists, and commissioners.
Presenters explained how their tailored approach differs from traditional domestic abuse services, emphasising the importance of bespoke support that addresses the complex needs of individuals living in supported housing. This approach helps bridge gaps in conventional systems and delivers meaningful change for those most at risk.
The event also featured an insightful presentation from the Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance (DAHA), the UK’s leading authority on improving the housing sector’s response to domestic abuse. DAHA shared how its national standards and accreditation framework can strengthen organisational culture, improve early identification and intervention, and embed trauma-informed practice across housing services.
This collaborative event highlights Look Ahead’s commitment to improving outcomes for survivors of domestic abuse within supported housing.
