Our homelessness and complex needs services support people who have faced many challenges. They may have slept rough for years or lost their homes due to substance misuse, mental health needs, trauma, relationship breakdowns and/or a history of offending. We treat each person as an individual, helping them understand and address their needs, while also building independence and moving forward positively.
With over 50 years of experience, Look Ahead empowers people to make positive choices and take control of their lives. Our services are personalised, co-produced, and delivered in partnership with the NHS, social services, and the wider third sector.
Homelessness and Complex Needs support
Domestic Abuse services
We offer a range of specialist domestic abuse services for individuals and families in London and Kent. These services support people to stay safe, manage personal boundaries and relationships, advocate for themselves, and access additional support as they move forward.
Our services
We currently support people with experiences of homelessness and complex needs through a wide range of services
Assessment centres
Short-term, intensive support for individuals referred by local authorities, including those who have been sleeping rough or are newly homeless.
Supported housing and hostels
Safe, homely services for individuals coming from the streets, prison, or hospital, offering a range of support and helping them move to their own accommodation usually within two years.
Integrated health hostels
Specialised services like our Edward Alsop Court hostel in Westminster, which comes complete with an onsite clinic where NHS nurses and GPs regularly treat customers every week. These services provide comprehensive support for people with experience of long-term and entrenched rough sleeping, including health services and end-of-life care.
Floating support services
Assistance for people in their own homes to manage tenancies, build skills, access local services, and prevent a return to homelessness.
Older people's services
Support for individuals with long histories of rough sleeping, helping them engage with healthcare and access end-of-life care.
Domestic abuse refuges
Safe spaces for women and children recovering from domestic abuse, offering trauma-informed support and access to specialist services.
Independent Domestic Violence Advocacy (IDVA) services
Inclusive services like our Kent IDVA service and our specialist Male Independent Domestic Abuse Advocacy Service (MIDAAS), provide personalised safety planning, emotional and practical advocacy, and legal guidance.
