Look Ahead was established in 1973 by Mary Jones, a senior civil servant who had just retired from the Department of Health and Social Security, and a group of other concerned individuals. They perceived a significant and growing gap in the market for good quality, cheap accommodation for single people on low incomes and it was with the goal of providing this, that Look Ahead was born.
35 years later, Look Ahead has become a vital source of accommodation and support services for vulnerable people in London and the south east, with a wide range of support needs. The organisation’s expansion and success has been far greater than Mary Jones could ever have imagined...
