For over 30 years, Look Ahead has provided vulnerable customers with high quality accommodation and the care and support services they need to live independently.
Working with people who are amongst society’s most vulnerable, whose lives can be very chaotic, we support people to feel secure and to see a future. Often for the first time.
Working in partnership with local authorities and primary care trusts, last year we supported over 5000 people. Amongst them were:
- young people, care leavers and teenage parents
- people with mental health issues
- people with learning disabilities
- homeless families, single homeless people and rough sleepers
- women and children fleeing domestic violence
- people with substance misuse issues
- people with offending histories.
Our accommodation-based support and floating and outreach services offer support to people around:
- preventing repeat homelessness through tenancy sustainment
- seeking specialist support for drug and alcohol issues
- mental health needs
- managing money and accessing benefits
- finding meaningful occupation and developing social networks
- accessing education, employment and training and activities in the local community.
We aim to enable the socially excluded people we support, to transform their lives in positive ways, and in doing so, empower them to play an active part in their local community and to live a more independent life.
